Who is responsible for your data

Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we process:
- Account and contact information: your name, email address, Firebase user ID and authentication-provider identifiers.
- Savings records: envelope names, currency, balances, target and contribution amounts, dates, saving schedules, icons, colors and transaction notes that you choose to enter. These are organizational records; Money Envelopes does not connect to or move money through a bank account.
- Purchase information: App Store product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status and expiration information. Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your card number or bank-account details.
- Usage and technical information: app interactions, an app-instance or device identifier, app and OS information, crash reports and related diagnostic information.
- Approximate location: Firebase Analytics may derive a broad region from a masked IP address. The app does not request Apple Location Services access and does not collect precise location.
How we use information
- authenticate your account and synchronize your envelopes across devices;
- calculate savings progress, provide exports and widgets, and enforce free and Premium features;
- verify App Store purchases, restore entitlements and respond to subscription changes or refunds;
- protect the service from abuse and unauthorized requests; and
- understand aggregate app usage, diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
Service providers
Google Firebase processes information on our behalf through Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Check, Remote Config, Analytics and Crashlytics. Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions and Sign in with Apple. Google authentication is used only when you choose Sign in with Google. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations.
No advertising or tracking
Money Envelopes does not display third-party advertising, sell personal information or use information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use data brokers.
Local device features
Notification schedules and preferences are stored on your device. Widget information is stored in the app's private Apple App Group container. CSV and PDF exports are created only when you request them and are shared using the iOS share sheet under your control.
Retention and deletion
Your account and savings records remain until you delete individual content or delete your account. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete account in the app. This removes your Firebase authentication account, envelopes and transactions. A deleted account's purchase association is released so an eligible purchase can later be restored, while Apple retains transaction records as required to operate the App Store. Analytics and diagnostic records are retained according to the applicable Firebase retention settings and legal requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete savings records, export your data as CSV, decline notifications, hide widget balances and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information, and to request a portable copy. Email us to make a request. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Security and international processing
We use authenticated access, Firebase App Check, encrypted network connections and account-scoped database rules. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information outside your country using safeguards required by applicable law.
Children
The app is a general-audience organizational tool and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot legally consent without authorization. A parent or guardian can contact us if they believe a child provided information improperly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated where required.
